The St. Gallen-based curtain exporter Engelbert E. Stieger & Cie. has been honoured with an unexpected award. Because of its outstanding market performance, the Sears Roebuck group, the largest chain of department stores in the US, has recognised the unique qualities of the Swiss firm in the household textiles sector. This is the first time the award has been given to a non-US company.
